The share of employers in Scotland that have funded or arranged training for staff over the past 12 months has increased from 70 per cent in 2013 to 71 per cent in 2015.

In order to innovate and grow, businesses need to have access to a labour market with the necessary leadership and technical skills to help them to grow.

Methodology

The indicator measures the percentage of employers who have funded or arranged training for their staff in the previous 12 months. Criteria for dashboard recent performance colour: If change is within +/- 3 percentage point this suggests that the position is more likely to be maintaining than showing any change. An increase of 3 percentage point or more suggests that the position is improving, whereas a decrease of 3 percentage point or more suggests that the position is worsening.
