BACKGROUND

Social Investment Scotland is a charity and social enterprise that provides flexible loans to other charities, social enterprises and community groups across Scotland.  

They support social enterprises that are using innovative and entrepreneurial methods to combat social problems and create a positive social impact on their communities in Scotland. They connect financial capital as well human and social capital by supporting organisations to become investment ready; providing support with their business plans and financials; giving confidence and empowering organisations to transition from grant dependence to a more sustainable future.

  • Pioneer in the creation of the first SITR fund in the UK - connecting individual investors with social enterprises.
  • Launched the UK's 1st Social Enterprise Supplier Development Academy in partnership with Asda.
